Abandoned Animals
In the event of an animal not being collected and boarding fees not being paid, we will seek to re-home the animal concerned, after giving 14 days notice to the owner or their representative at their last known address.
A re-homing fee of £100 will be added to any outstanding bills, which we shall purse via debt collection agency should payment not be forthcoming.
We shall also work with Animal Welfare authorities to investigate reasons for abandonment.
Belongings
Everything your pet requires for his/her stay at Deansford is provided, including a plentiful supply of toys. If you want to bring toys, please do not bring anything precious or anything you would not want to lose.
We supply each pet with its own basket but ask that you bring him/her something from home, whether it be bedding or an old blanket so that they have some familiar comforts around them.
Occasionally during the settling-in process, a dog may be destructive, so may we suggest that an old blanket is put in with his/her normal bedding a few days before their stay and bring that along instead of running the risk of spoiling their normal bed. We do of course keep spare bedding in case it is needed.
Peak Periods
Our peak periods are half term holidays, Bank Holidays, Easter, Summer through from July and August & Christmas/New Year.
During these times we are always oversubscribed and therefore we require two weeks notice of a change to the booking period or the charges for the original booking will be owed.
Outside of our peak periods, we are happy to negotiate discounts for long stay occupancy or regular visits. Any discounts negotiated are subject to fees being paid in accordance with our normal payment terms.
The welfare of your Pet(s) is paramount to our business, so we would ask you to take time to read the following Terms and Conditions related to health and wellbeing. You will be requested to sign as read prior to boarding your pets with us.
Inoculations/ Vaccinations
All dogs must be fully inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para Influenza and Leptospirosis and canine infectious bronchitis (Kennel Cough) and must have had a booster injection within the previous twelve months.
The Kennel cough vaccinations must have been carried out at least two weeks prior to your dog arriving at the kennels.
Please bring your latest inoculation certificates with you on each visit, we regret that without them we will be unable to accept your animals.
All pets coming to the kennels should be free from internal or external parasites (fleas, worms etc.). Should any pet on arrival require treatment for these conditions, this will be done without prior consent from the owner and then a charge may be made for this.
If regular injections or applications are required to maintain continuity, we’ll be happy to carry out your instructions at no extra charge.
Emergency Care
Whilst every possible attention is given to each animal boarded at Deansford Kennels, pets are left with us entirely at the owner’s risk.
Any current or ongoing problems with a pet’s health or temperament must be notified to us at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse any pet that we consider to be of an unreliable temperament or sick at the time of boarding. If your pet is on any medication during his/her stay with us, please make sure you leave us with clear instructions for administration and also enough medication for the entirety of your pet’s stay, which will be administered at no extra charge.
In the event of illness or injury requiring medical attention, Deansford Kennels will call your nominated vet and if the matter is serious, we will try to contact you or your emergency contact as soon as possible.
In the event that medical treatment is required, we will take your dog to either your nominated vet or the Clent Hills Veterinary Practice in Hagley. Each visit to the vet will incur a £20 surcharge to cover time and fuel, payable on collection.
The waiver you will have signed when registering with us, authorises treatment of up £500 if required, which you will have agreed to pay on collection of your dog. If the required care will exceed that amount, Deansford Kennels will try to contact you again on the telephone numbers you have given, to discuss further treatment. If we cannot reach you, the management team of Deansford Kennels will use our best judgement in deciding whether to go ahead with treatment recommended by the vet, whether the cost of such treatment exceeds £500 or otherwise. All medical costs incurred will be charged to the owners on the collection of their pet.
We strongly advise that you have suitable pet insurance in place before leaving your animal with us.
